Brief Overview[]

Absolute Duo was written by Takumi Hiragiboshi as a Light Novel with Characters designed by Yū Asaba. The Light Novels were published in Japan starting August 24, 2012 and ending with the eleventh volume on July 25, 2016. Shortly after Takumi Hiragiboshi released his first volume, a Manga adaptation followed suite releasing in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive on April 27, 2013 with art by Shinichirou Nariie. In November, that same year, Media Factory released the first "stand alone or tankōbon" Manga volume. They continued to release three more volumes, with the last one (Volume 4) releasing September 2017. A spin-off series with one volume was released on January 23, 2015 and titled Absolute Duo Tea Party with art by Tor Oiwaka. In 2017, Seven Seas Entertainment released the first English Volume of the Manga and completed the 4 volume series in late 2018.

An Anime Adaptation by Eight Bit was announced at Media Factory's 2014 Summer School Festival event, the first episode aired January 4, 2015, two months before the release of the third volume of Manga in Japan. The series aired from January 2015 to March 22, 2015 with a total of 12 episodes, ending one day before the release of the third volume.
